world nutella day

Well, I'm sure many of you will be surprised to learn that today is officially "World Nutella Day"..."Lovers of Nutella Unite for One Day!". One of the co-hosts of this tasty day is Shelley, from the blog, At Home in Rome which I read quite often. She has been promoting this new day for a while now, and so I have created a new Nutella Recipe for the occation. For those who haven't been formally introduced to this decadent hazelnut, chocolate spread: Nutella, this is (insert your name). (your name), this is Nutella!

And now for my recipe...I wanted to mix a fun treat with a hint of my home on the beach - thus coming up with
"Nutella Sand Dollar Surprise"

Ingredients:
Snickerdoodle Cookie Dough (premade dough is fine as well)
<< SNICKERDOODLES
2 sticks butter
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 3/4 c. all-purpose flour
2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. sugar
2 tsp. cinnamon
-Cream Butter, sugar, eggs. Mix all dry ingredients, and then gradually add into creamed mixture.>>

NUTELLA
Powered Sugar and Paprika

Form small teaspoon-size balls of dough and indent the middle to form a bowl-shape. Use icing dispenser to squeeze 1 teaspoon of Nutella into the dough. Top the Nutella dough bowls with another dough "bowl". Pinch the edges together and flatten a bit. Cut 5 slits into the top of the cookie to form the "Sand Dollar" design. Bake at 350degrees for 12 minutes or until golden. Cool slightly and sprinkle with powdered sugar and paprika! ENJOY!

Love these! A great way to use some of the 3 kilos of Nutella I have haunting me from the cupboard. I'll be taking these on my next beach trip in two weeks.
